Sauvignon Blanc

grape from the Loire Valley, France.

Synonymes: Surin, Sauternes, Blanc Fumé, Fié, among others.

Strong variety, but sensitive to fungi diseases as Botrytis and Mildew, its young leaves present a hairy lower surface, which distinguishes this grape from Sauvignon Vert.

Sauvignon Blanc is normally used as a single variety wine (no blends), obtaining citric and mineralized wines, many times with a sweaty touch.

It is the second most important variety of white wine after Chardonnay.
