Original grape from Bordeaux, France.
Synonymes: Morillon, Pinot Chatdonnay, Melon, Rousseau, among others.
This variety adapts to all kinds of winegrowing climates in the world, it is vigorous but of average production, sensitive to fungi diseases as Mildew and Botrytis, as well as spring frosts.
It is preferred for the preparation of dry white wines, its characteristics may vary from wines with a great body and aging potential in barrels to lighter and fresher wines without oak and destined to be consumed young.
For its aromatic potential, it is mainly used in the elaboration of Champagne.
